1. Soil Preparation
Before planting, ensure your soil is well-draining and rich in organic matter. This provides a healthy environment for your plant’s roots to establish. If you already have healthy soil then you’re ahead, but if not there’s plenty of ways to get it up to scratch:
- Get some garden soil from your Bunnings or your local landscaping supplies.
- Compost bin – have you been keeping your organic food scraps and letting them breakdown? Great! Now you can put this into the ground and ensure it’s equally spread
- Use fertiliser. We have a plant food product which is a Liquid Organic Extract Fertiliser. It’s a highly concentrated liquid solution containing beneficial soil microbes, nutrients and minerals and can be used both as a fertiliser and soil re-builder and conditioner. You can purchase it using our voucher code (insert code) to get a 15% discount on repeat purchases.
2. Watering Routine
Water your plant thoroughly after planting, and then establish a consistent watering schedule. The frequency may vary based on the plant type, but always water at the plant’s base to prevent fungal issues.
3. Sunlight Exposure
Understand your plant’s sunlight requirements. Some plants thrive in full sun, while others prefer partial shade. Position your plant accordingly to ensure optimal growth.
4. Mulching
Apply a layer of mulch around your plant to retain soil moisture, suppress weeds, and regulate soil temperature.
5. Pruning and Deadheading
Regularly remove dead or yellowing leaves and spent flowers to encourage new growth and maintain a tidy appearance.
